The "Youth Awareness Conference” came into existence 2010.
The vision of the conference is to educate youth and families so that they are prepared,
restored, and revived. Our goal is to develop foster youth and other youth in the
community by concentrating our efforts on the family as we embrace their spiritual,
physical, and emotional well-being. We further want to equip young people and their
parents with tools that they may need to navigate the challenges they face in today’s society.
The focus this year is “Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Domestic Violence and
Human Trafficking – Saving Our Children.”
We aim to promote awareness and educate our community through workshop topics
presented by professional experts in their respective fields. The sessions will explore and train
regarding the following topics: Mental Stability, Human Trafficking, Self-Esteem
Building, Surviving Abuse and Neglect, Trauma Informed Care, STOP (Stand, Tell
Observe, Protect) Bullying, Healthy Living, Stranger Danger, Good/Bad Touch, and
Suicide Prevention. This conference is for the entire family. Each participant will attend
age appropriate sessions for the entire family: children (7 and under); adolescent (8 to
12); teens (13 to 18); young adults (18 to 26) and adults. Our purpose is to educate and
inform and to encourage and inspire.
